Tokyo confirms 968 new COVID-19 infections

TOKYO, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo confirmed 968 COVID-19 infections on Monday, falling below 1,000 for the first time since July 19.

The daily tally decreased significantly from the 1,853 cases confirmed Sunday, logging the 15th consecutive day of decrease.

The seven-day rolling average in Tokyo was 2,414 per day, dropping 34.9 percent from the previous week.
