Supporter sponsors squad’s injury insurance

Maidstone United are delighted to announce that one of our most ardent fans, Neil Baldock, has stepped forward and offered to sponsor the first team players’ injury insurance needs for this season.

This is a massive gesture by Neil and it will mean that should any player get injured, he will have the peace of mind that there is a fund in place to cover the cost of any X-ray, scan or hospital consultancy advice.

In the past the club has covered this cost and will still be responsible for the cost of any operations should they be required.

Neil (pictured above) said: “This has been a very challenging time for everyone, including football players and their families, and from a personal perspective, lockdown was very hard for me to deal with, particularly not being able to see family, friends and football.

“This got me thinking, when everything opened up, about how I could help my local football club in some way. I am very pleased to support the club’s players and show my appreciation for the enjoyment they bring to me and many, many others.”

Chief Executive Bill Williams said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to Neil for supporting us in this way and providing peace of mind for the players and management.

“In the last month alone, four players have picked up injuries and we want to do all we possibly can to ensure they are supported in their recovery – both physically and mentally – and Neil’s initiative will go a long way to achieving that.”
