RHOSLC: How Lisa Has Been A Friend To Jen Shah Before & After Her Arrest
The upcoming season 2 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is set to divide the group as Jen Shah faces criminal allegations, but Lisa Barlow has demonstrated that she will continue to be a good friend to Jen. In the highly anticipated season 2, Jen will be charged with fraud and her co-stars will be forced to reckon with the aftermath. From coming to her aid in season 1 to promising that she won't change who she is in the wake of Jen's alleged crime, Lisa has proven herself to be a true friend to Jen before and after her arrest.
Although Jen's journey on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 2 is sure to be one of the most challenging in the history of the Housewives franchise, Jen's run on season 1 wasn't exactly celebrated either. In the debut season, Jen started drama with just about every cast member on the Utah-based reality show. Jen accused Whitney Rose of being an instigator, forced Meredith Marks to "disengage," betrayed the loyalty of her best friend Heather Gay, and even splashed water at Bravo's production crew. Even though the whole group was, understandably, against Jen, Lisa still had hope for the controversy-prone housewife.
On RHOSLC season 1, Lisa was the only housewife to reach out to Jen after the group's explosive trip to Las Vegas. Jen attempted to turn everyone against Whitney, which backfired and caused the housewives to share that they didn't trust Jen. Even Heather felt like she needed a break from Jen after the vacation-gone-wrong. Surprisingly, Lisa was the one to pick up the pieces. Lisa met up with Jen after Vegas to help understand her side and help mend the bridges Jen burned on the trip. Lisa continued to demonstrate her strong allegiance to Jen at the season 1 reunion, where Lisa was Jen's only source of support. Lisa faced backlash from Heather and Meredith, who didn't understand why she was defending Jen. Nevertheless, Lisa didn't back down.
While Lisa was brave to stand up for Jen after she managed to rile up every other housewife in the group, she is poised to face the ultimate test of friendship on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 2. In the upcoming season, Jen gets arrested for fraud, and many of her co-stars aren't sure how to continue their relationship with her. Similar to Erika Jayne's situation in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the cast members are seeing a new side to Jen they aren't sure they can trust. Lisa assured audiences that Jen Shah's criminal allegations won't change the kind of friend she is. In an interview with Digital Spy, Lisa explained that she's "always rooting for Jen." Lisa continued, "Jen's situation doesn't change who I am as a person and how I'm going to treat Jen as a friend."
Audiences might not think that Jen deserves a friend as supportive as Lisa, but popular opinion has never been a factor in Lisa's friendship with Jen. From having her back after Jen's meltdown in Las Vegas to standing by her side in the wake of potential prison time, Lisa exhibited that she is not a fickle friend. Fans will get to see the lengths Lisa goes to for her friends on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 2.
