90 Day Fiance: Cast Members Who Gave Up The Most For Their Partners
On 90 Day Fiancé and its spin-offs, at least one member of every couple is giving up the home they know to follow their hearts to a different country. However, sometimes cast members give up a lot more than that, and fans are usually quick to criticize the lack of equity, especially if those 90 Day Fiancé stars are being used primarily for money.
Over the course of eight seasons and countless spin-offs, dozens of cast members have relocated for love, and sometimes things work out great. There have been many couples whose marriages are still going strong, but there have been just as many who struggled with the difficulties that come with the show.
Sometimes, cast members will give up so much for their partner that it puts a strain on the relationship that few can overcome. These are some of the 90 Day Fiancé stars who stunned fans with how much they were willing to sacrifice.
Although some consider Ariela to be the next franchise villain, there’s no denying she gave up a lot to be with her husband Biniyam Shibre. Ariela was a world traveler, but she was still used to the many creature comforts that come with being from America, and moving to Ethiopia was a major change. Even Ariela’s mother was wary of her daughter’s new living conditions when she first arrived. However, Ariela does seem to appreciate the benefits that come with her new life, including a significantly lower cost of living, though that’s not to say she hasn’t had a difficult time adjusting.
When Yamir was first introduced in 90 Day Fiancé season 2, he had thousands of fans and a thriving career as a member of Nicaraguan boyband Myla Vox—and he gave all of that away for his relationship with fiancée Chelsea Macek. Yamir was used to the spotlight, so moving to Chelsea’s small town in Illinois was a major change for the musician. He said he was ok with leaving everything behind for love, though it did seem that Yamir was a little sad to say goodbye to his old life. Unfortunately for Yamir, his gamble didn’t really pay off, and he and Chelsea split up just a few years after getting married.
It’s likely that out of all the 90 Day Fiancé cast members who gave up a lot for their partners, David got the least back in return. For seven years he “dated” his Ukrainian love Lana through a sketchy foreign dating website. David invested his time and money into Lana, even visiting Ukraine several times and being stood every time except the last. Though David still holds out hope for a relationship with Lana, it’s pretty clear to everyone else that Lana was just using him, and unfortunately David has already lost a lot of time and money.
Jenny is another cast member from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way who left her life in America behind to join her Indian love Sumit Singh, but she hasn’t gotten much in return. Sumit started their relationship by catfishing Jenny, and he hasn’t gotten much better since then. The couple is now on their third season of the show and Sumit still won’t get married to Jenny. Many fans don’t think he ever will, and would advise Jenny to cut her losses. Jenny clearly still thinks Sumit is worth the sacrifice, but viewers aren’t so sure.
Although at least one partner in each 90 Day Fiancé couple gives up their country to move somewhere new, some of them give up even more than that. It’s often a testament to just how much a cast member loves their partner, even if few viewers would make the same decision.
