U.S. stocks rebound following weak September

NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks rallied on Friday, bolstered by solid gains in the energy sector.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 482.54 points, or 1.43 percent, to 34,326.46. The S&P 500 rose 49.50 points, or 1.15 percent, to 4,357.04. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 118.12 points, or 0.82 percent, to 14,566.70.
