[Men's Cross Country] Bearcats Improve at Huntington XC Invitational
The Brescia men's cross country team competed at the Huntington XC Invitational on October 1st, with four Bearcats completing the race.
The Bearcats had a strong performance at the meet, with three student-athletes earning season PR's (personal records).
"Huntington's course was a challenging one," said Assistant Coach Kyle Robinson. "The course featured some hills and zig-zaggy trails, so to be able to come out of there with three season PR's is a great sign."
Benjamin Brown (JR/Memphis, MI) led the team with a season PR of 30:09, placing 41st and improving 2:03 from the last meet.
Wes Wheatley (JR/Hawesville, KY) was the next Bearcat to cross the finish line, placing 51st with a season PR of 32:56 -- a 3:21 improvement from the previous meet.
Next to complete the 8k was Draven Stewart (SO/Leitchfield, KY), who ran a new career PR of 34:21 -- a seven second imprrovement from his previous fastest time.
Rounding out the Beracats' performance was James Barrow (JR/Elizabethtown, KY), who placed 55th with a time of 37:29.
The team will be back in action on Friday, October 8th when we host the Brescia Invitational at Yellow Creek Park.
