Battlefied 2042 Beta Player Hooks Onto A Rocket And Flies Into The Sky
A Battlefield 2042 beta player pulled off a hilarious stunt when they successfully hooked onto a rocket and flew up into the sky. The latest entry in the popular first-person shooter franchise, Battlefield 2042 held its open beta this weekend, allowing anyone to download and try out the new game, although those who preordered were given access to the open beta a couple of days early. With there being only a little over a month before Battlefield 2042 releases on November 19, 2021, the open beta will not only get more people to try out the game and potentially preorder it, but it also gives the developers a chance to see how the game will fare once it’s accessed by a large amount of players.
Notably, the Battlefield 2042 that players are currently experiencing with the open beta may be at least slightly different from the game that will be eventually released next month. According to developer DICE, the build of the game that’s being used for the open beta is apparently a few months old. The company also added that this will mean that some of the issues players are facing in the open beta may already be fixed or will be resolved by the time the game fully releases in November.
YouTube channel ChillPotato shared the comedic moment in a short video which shows them watching the rocket of the game’s Orbital map begin to lift off. Their teammate, who was standing on the rocket launch platform, then uses their grappling hook to latch onto the rocket. The player holds on as much as they’re able to before they plummet back down from the sky straight to their death. The grappling hook is one of the specialist abilities Battlefield 2042 is introducing in the place of the series’ old class system.

In the open beta, DICE gave players access to only the Orbital map and the Conquest game mode. However, it did also give people the opportunity to experience the game’s “Levolution” feature, which was first introduced in Battlefield 4. This allows players to significantly change the elements of the map depending on the actions they take. In the case of Orbital, players will be able to either allow the map’s rocket to successfully lift off, as seen in the video, or cause it to explode on the launch pad.
Using the grappling hook to latch onto the rocket is just one of many possible shenanigans players can potentially pull off in the game. While it’s uncertain if the final game will allow these types of unusual tricks, it can be certain that players will try to find ways to make the most of the game’s specialist abilities. There’s definitely a lot fans can look forward to seeing and experiencing when Battlefield 2042 launches next month.
Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2021, on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
