The Fortnite map is constantly changing and growing as the game is updated. Fans have seen new points of interest added, some changed, and some just completely removed. Some of the locations are so loved, fans are calling for them to return in the next upcoming season update.
Epic adds new locations and cycles out old ones to try and keep the game fresh for their fans. Unfortunately, not all of those places have lived up to that "hot-drop" title. Yet there are some, like Tomato Town and Pleasant Park, which are the best of the all-time favorite locations that have been in the game so far, with each one providing a unique set of benefits to the brave Fortnite players who dare to enter them.
10 Tomato Town
Tomato Town was a point of interest during the first chapter of Fortnite and has partially made a few reappearances around the map since then. The Pizza Pit can still be found on the latest map near the orchard outside Colossal Crops.
This wasn't a huge point of interest on the map, but it was a safer drop in the middle of other big locations. Several buildings potentially spawned chests, the car dealer, the gas station, the Pizza Pit, and the taco stand. The Pizza Pit was the only part of the location that has stayed on the map through Fortnite's periodic evolution and updates, making it remain an iconic spot to this day.
9 Salty Springs
Salty Springs was also an early location on the map that underwent several changes as updates happened until it was finally removed entirely. Salty was a small suburb outside Tilted Towers and Dusty Depot that later moved under Pleasant Park and Sweaty Sands.
Salty was not a very big location either but offered a row of houses and a gas station where chests spawned frequently. When the location was first added, it also included secret underground bunkers in two houses. Salty was a great location for those who wanted an easier drop to delve into Tilted Towers eventually. Inversely, it was also a great place to escape to after a chaotic drop into Tilted.
8 Flush Factory
True to the name, Flush Factory was a factory for toilets. It was later removed from the game as the map changed. It wasn't a point of interest that was easily remembered by the fans, but it remains one of the best ones that ever existed.
Flush Factory was located at the southwestern edge of the island in chapter 1 of Fortnite. It could be seen later on as an unmarked location covered in the snowy terrain of the map. Flush Factory was one of the best drops due to its secluded location on the map, away from other nearby points of interest. Players could find five or more chests that spawn there and could easily claim all of it as the location rarely had more than two teams drop there at most.
7 Retail Row
Although its coordinates have shifted slightly, Retail Row is one location that remains on the latest map. It offers players a wide landscape with many possible drop options, a row of shops, or a small suburb.
Retail Row, not quite the "hot-drop" as some, remains one of the best locations because of its versatility. Players can head to the shops that often guarantee a quick fight, or they can head to the houses just outside the square. It offers a lot of different chest spawn locations and is now a great place to find a vehicle in its large parking lot.
6 Paradise Palms
Paradise Palms was added during the chapter 1, season 5 update. It offered a totally new desert terrain to the game and this large point of interest. It was a city that could almost amount to Tilted, but not quite.
Paradise Palms became another "hot-drop" when it entered the game because it was another huge location that offered an abundance of buildings and loot. Not only that, Paradise Palms became the first desert biome added into the game, offering all-new landscapes and a California-esque city similar to Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V, which is still considered by some to be Rockstar's masterpiece. Paradise Palms was also known for its Loot Llama spawns and rifts usually found near there.
5 Lazy Lake
Lazy Lake is one point of interest that has seen drastic layout changes in Fortnite and name changes over the years. It began as a bothersome drop, Loot Lake, but Lazy Lake has become one of the most popular locations due to updates and map evolutions.
Before Lazy Lake became what it is on the most recent map, it started as Loot Lake, which included a few buildings and chest spots all surrounding a big circle of water. This was bothersome for players at the time because swimming was not a thing and required them to try and build quickly over the water. Lazy Lake has been an extreme improvement for players, giving them not only another huge loot city but bodies of water outside of it that they can actually swim or boat off of to other locations.
4 Dusty Depot
Dusty Depot was not a very large location but remains one of the most "hot-drop" and best locations. Its center spot on the map made it an easy target for drops and easily accessible to other points of interest.
Dusty Depot, later turned into Dusty Divot, was originally three large warehouses located toward the center of the map. The spot was removed almost entirely, occasionally popping up as a single warehouse. Although it didn't offer much loot until it became Dusty Divot, its spot on the map made it easily accessible to and from other locations nearby. Its large warehouses were also a great spot for Fortnite players to build up a base and prepare for the end battle.
3 Shifty Shafts
Shifty Shafts was one of the most unique locations offered on the map. The underground mine shaft first appeared in chapter 1 but was later removed. Players were sad to see it go and hoped it might make a return into the game one day.
It was one of the only locations almost entirely underground with its byzantine mines. It also had two houses on the outskirts of the mine as well, where two or three more chests could spawn. Shifty Shafts was the best location to camp if a player's fighting style was a little more passive. The mine shaft consisted of winding paths with dead ends and mine carts, making it easy for players to be a little more stealthy. In addition, players could count on bumping into some of Fortnite's scariest enemies in this location.
2 Pleasant Park
Pleasant Park is one original location that has seen only a few minor changes but stayed the most consistent throughout the years. It remains one of the most, if not the most, popular drop locations now.
Pleasant Park has and remains to be one of the most widespread locations. There are plenty of houses that almost always guarantee a chest and loot, as well as the gazebo and sports field. Since the exit of Tilted Towers, Pleasant Park has quickly become the most "hot-drop" locations, not only for its loot potential but its sentimental value.
1 Tilted Towers
Tilted Towers was undoubtedly the best and most notorious location that has been on the map. It was the most popular drop spot during early seasons and usually where every player gravitated toward during the match.
Tilted Towers was the first city location added into the game and quickly became the most popular area to land for its abundance of loot and large scale. It became notorious because of how many players populated it, leading to fast encounters and quick deaths. This place was perfect for players wanting a fast-paced game. Fans hope to see it make a return in upcoming seasons.
