Charlton Set For Key Player Return Boost Ahead Of Ipswich Clash

Pearce has missed Charlton’s last four games due to a knee injury he suffered against Plymouth.

Being without their club captain has been a blow for Charlton, but boss Johnnie Jackson has revealed he expects the defender to be available for Tuesday’s home clash against Ipswich.

He told the South London Press: “Pearcey should be available.

“He needs to come through training this morning to have a chance. We’re hoping he’ll be fine.”

Charlton came through their FA Cup test on Friday night when they won away at non-league Gateshead, securing a 2-0 victory and a spot in the third round draw.

Tuesday’s opponents Ipswich however were held to a draw at Portman Road by League Two outfit Barrow and the result spelt the end of Paul Cook’s period as manager.

All eyes will be on how Ipswich’s players react to the exit of Cook when they lock horns with Charlton on Tuesday night at the Valley.
