WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former U.S. Senator David Perdue announced his bid for Georgia governor on Monday, challenging incumbent Brian Kemp in next year’s election and deepening a Republican rift in the key battleground state driven by former President Donald Trump.
Perdue, a Trump ally, launched his campaign with a video on his website.
