Political analyst Rahr says US is trying to rally Europe against Russia

Washington and London regularly slip fakes to Germany, one of which was information about preparation of Russia’s “attack” on Ukraine, says political scientist Alexander Rahr

Earlier, it became known that Washington had spread materials of the Kremlin’s “alleged intentions” to 29 North Atlantic Alliance allies and diplomatic channels in the European Union. The US was trying to convince sceptical countries of a possible Russian “attack” on Ukraine.

“The main purpose of providing Europeans with new intelligence on the Kremlin’s allegedly imminent invasion of Ukraine is to rally Europe against Russia. In Germany, however, I see no desire to spoil relations with Russia. On the contrary, in the circles of the new FRG government, one can hear ideas about de-escalation of tensions in bilateral relations”, –  Rahr said in a conversation with Vzglyad.

In his opinion, the author of this information is the British intelligence services. The political analyst noted that London and Washington regularly “slip the German government various fakes, which are accompanied by an atmosphere of secrecy and anonymity.”

“Instead of sitting down at the negotiating table, the US and Britain want to make Russia another scarecrow and aggressor that attacks Europe. But the problem is that most European countries do not want to fight for Ukraine. There is a lot of pressure on Germany though. There is a big game that is entering a very dangerous phase”, –  Rahr summed up.
