US Congress dissuades Biden from trying to intimidate Putin
Even US politicians believe US President Joe Biden should not “play with his muscles” during talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin
Adam Smith, a representative of the Democratic Party and chairman of the Armed Services Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, said this, Izvestia reports citing Defense News.
He said there was no need to put pressure on Putin. Especially since it will not lead to anything good. Besides, Smith stressed that one should not try to use threats of military conflict as a tool to get the desired result.
At this point the congressman’s common sense ran out, however, and he advised Biden to threaten Russia with new sanctions. Allegedly, Washington has strong allies who are ready for tough economic measures.
The talks between the two leaders are scheduled for 7 December. They will be held in a video conference format. It is known that the dialogue is scheduled for the evening, but the exact time has not yet been announced. The Kremlin added that a face-to-face meeting between Vladimir Putin and Biden was out of the question at the moment.
