Boy, 16, ‘dies of heart attack after visiting ‘haunted house’ with pal
A TEENAGE boy has died of a heart attack after visiting a “haunted house” in Malaysia with a pal.
Local media said the unnamed teen was on holiday with when they decided to visit a spooky house that appeared to give him a fatal fright.
The 16-year-old victim went into cardiac arrest in the house located at a popular tourist attraction in the municipality of Bentong in the Malaysian state of Pahang on December 1.
Inside the house, the youngster reportedly collapsed and fell unconscious.
The boy went pale and was unresponsive, it’s been reported, and he was carried out of the house to an open area in the fresh air where the emergency services were contacted.
But nothing could be done to save him and it was later revealed that he had a perforated heart. It is unclear if he or his family knew of the condition before his demise.
Bentong District spokesperson Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the teenager’s passing has been listed as sudden death.

His body was sent to the Malaysian state of Malacca where he was from.
The police said that the autopsy revealed the victim had a perforated heart.
The Ohio-based medical centre Cleveland Clinic said sudden frights, in rare cases, can trigger a cardiac arrest, particularly among those with underlying heart conditions.
Cardiologist Dr Mark Estes of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center said: “In people with pre-existing risk factors or pre-existing cardiovascular disease.
“You want to reduce the environments in which you might be suddenly stressed like this.”
The boy’s family said they will bury him at the Bukit Baru Islamic Cemetery.
