CHARLIE and Iain’s lives hang in the balance as Casualty airs the second part of its Christmas two-parter this week.
Here’s a full collection of the biggest moments to watch out for.

Charlie is shocked to find Laura with a seriously injured Rosie at the bottom of the stairs.
Still not recognising Laura, Charlie ignores his worsening headache to rush Rosie to resus.
As the team rush to save them, Laura argues with the team about Rosie and the baby’s treatment.
2. Charlie grows suspicious of Laura
As Tess struggles to get the baby breathing, Charlie’s suspicions are aroused by Laura’s behaviour.
Still struggling to remember them from 2006, Charlie asks Adi to investigate but becomes distracted when a boy is brought in suffering from the same signs of abuse as Zamir from last night.
Realising this is Zamir’s brother, Charlie succeeds in reuniting mother and son, thus further neglecting the situation with Rosie and Laura.
With Charlie out of the way, Laura tells Adi that Rosie suffers from mental health problems, implying she should look after the baby instead.
3. Adi makes a big mistake with Marty
Uninterested in what’s going on in resus, Adi allows his connection with Marty to deflect from his job.
As Adi becomes increasingly distracted by Marty, this allows Laura to disguise herself in PPE and steal her grandchild.
Realising his mistake, Adi blames himself for putting the baby at risk.
4. Charlie and Tess make a worrying discovery
Charlie and Tess are horrified to discover the baby is gone and are further shocked to realise that Laura is the woman who once stabbed paramedic Josh and tried to harm Rosie as a child.
Panicked, Charlie and Tess manage to track down Laura’s number by remembering that she phoned the switchboard that morning.
Recognising background noise on her phone, Tess and Charlie find Laura smoking in a closed ward used as storage for oxygen canisters.
5. Iain’s life hangs in the balance
Following his collapse last night, Iain is rushed into resus as a panic-stricken Chrissie watches on.
When Iain unexpectedly crashes, Dylan discovers that a bleed was missed due to the radiology scans being outsourced to a foreign company.
Thankfully, we know that Iain will pull through his ordeal, given that this episode was set in 2020.
6. Charlie is attacked
Charlie is relieved to get good news about his health next week, when he learns that his symptoms are not of a brain tumour but of a treatable unruptured berry aneurysm.
Unfortunately, he is soon left fighting for his life anyway when a dangerous Laura does her worst.
With Laura refusing to hand over the baby, she threatens Charlie with a scalpel and blames him for her Factitious Disorder.
Despite Tess attempting to take a softer approach, Charlie loses his temper and confronts Laura with the brutal truth.
Devastated, Laura attacks Charlie with the scalpel, only for the oxygen cylinders to explode, throwing Charlie to the ground.
7. There’s a shock death
With Charlie lifeless on the ground, Tess attempts to get the baby to safety, while Laura watches on.

While we know that both Iain and Charlie pull through their near-death experiences – thanks to their appearances in this year’s episodes – we can confirm that one character won’t be seen in the New Year in Holby.
But who will it be?
