Ultron Would Lose His Mind Over Wolverine's New Adamantium Weapon

0

Warning! Spoilers ahead for X-Force #25

In Marvel's new issue of X-Force, Wolverine is given a brand new adamantium weapon and tool that would make the MCU's Ultron furious. Featuring Logan taking a rare day off from protecting the mutant nation of Krakoa with time to kill, the former Weapon X decides to seek adrenaline through extreme sports, proving that Wolverine always needs some sort of battle (even if it's recreational). However, Logan decides to take his hobby further by having Forge craft him something that's as epic as it is ridiculous.

It's no secret that Wolverine has been through a lot lately. Between hunting down vampires and preparing for Dracula's inevitable war on Krakoa, being chosen and fighting in the Tournament of Swords, as well as the recent Hellfire Gala, Logan has been very busy. Furthermore, he's also reunited with his old squadmate Maverick from their Weapon X days, though Maverick certainly has ulterior motives in reconnecting with Logan. As a result, it certainly seems as though Wolverine deserves to relax in the new X-Force #25 from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Robert Gill.

Hilariously, the issue reveals that Wolverine had asked Krakoa's resident inventor Forge to build him a surfboard, and it's apparently ready to go. However, this is no ordinary surfboard. Given Krakoa's vast supply of adamantium which is used to recoat Logan's bones should he ever need to be brought back using the island's resurrection protocols, Forge has used some to create an adamantium-covered surfboard. While it certainly looks cool and is rather fitting for Wolverine as he carves through massive 100-foot waves, it would no doubt exasperate the MCU's Ultron seeing as how he couldn't stand humanity's use of vibranium "to make a Frisbee" (Captain America's shield).

As James Spader's Ultron notes in the second Avengers film, vibranium is the "most versatile substance on the planet" and the same is true of adamantium in the comics. However, if that's the case, why not make a surfboard out of the indestructible material? So long as they have the metal to spare, Wolverine getting a board as sharp and as tough as he is makes perfect sense as he battles the surf, risking a brutal death by hundreds of pounds of crashing waves.

Had adamantium been available in the MCU, it's possible Ultron could have gone after some to make his vibranium body that much stronger. However, the aforementioned versatility of the two metals is what makes them so cool. Why do the expected like make an armored body when there are so many other uses (like making an epic surfboard for Wolverine)?
