Today, 10 months on, the number of people killed has almost doubled and the UN is still taking its time. Here is why. For one, the UN-based system is broken. Notwithstanding its name, the UN isn’t of one voice even when it comes face to face with genocides. Palestine, Rwanda, Bosnia and most recently Myanmar. And the world body has a design problem, too.
