After falling into the dumps at the start of the season, then shooting to the moon in Orlando, the Flyers have look terrific the last 2 home games; seemingly righting the ship on 3 losses that can at best be described as perplexing. While the competition the last 2 wasn't exactly upper crust, a complete beat down can cleanse the soul while the increased playing time for the bench players will help keep them engaged as the move forward.
The next 3 games are a huge opportunity for the Flyers. 2 weeks ago, no body here was thinking NCAA tournament. Watching them win in Orlando and shred the last 2 opponents has shifted the winds of thinking here on UDPride. However, no matter how the rest of the season progresses, there will always be 3 sub 200 losses at the start of the season on the ol' resume. As much as I (we/some of us) would like to look at the start as a young team trying to find its way, the stains of those losses will remain. However, the Flyers are presented with a chance to change the narrative. 2 true road games plus a potential top 25 NET team at home sandwhiched in between will allow those in the national media to overlook the start and focus on the here now.
Some thoughts on the teams below, but question, would you take 2-1 right now if given to you? What about 1-2? I feel these next 3 shape the outlook for this team even more than the improbably victory over Kansas. Win these 3 and that is a "good team that took it to Kansas". Drop the next 3 and its an "inconsistent team that caught lightening in a bottle"
