Western Australia set to tighten border with Tasmania and the ACT on January 3

Western Australia is set to tighten its border with Tasmania and the ACT from 12.01am January 3.

They will both be elevated to 'high risk' areas from Monday.

This means travellers from those areas will not be allowed into Western Australia unless they are approved.

Authorities say rising COVID cases in Tasmania and the ACT prompted the decision.
