U.S. dollar skids after disappointing jobs report

NEW YORK, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar fell noticeably in late trading on Friday following the release of a weaker-than-expected jobs report.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, decreased 0.61 percent at 95.7275.

In late New York trading, the euro rose to 1.1362 U.S. dollars from 1.1287 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound increased to 1.3595 dol
