Producers of the 2022 Academy Awards announced that for the first time in three years, the Oscars will have a celebrity host.

The Oscars went hostless beginning in 2019. That year, the big show was supposed to be hosted by Kevin Hart but he stepped down when some past controversial tweets came to light. ABC never named a replacement host, opting for lots of celeb presenters to keep the show going.
