Immortal X-Men First Look Gives Mutant Fans Their Next Great Cosplay

0

The new Immortal X-Men series on the horizon from Marvel Comics will introduce a bevy of story elements meant to expand the ever-growing lore of the mutants, including some great cosplay options that fans will love. The first issue is set to release on March 30, 2022.

Immortal X-Men will feature artwork from Lucas Werneck and a story written by Kieron Gillen. The story at the center of it all will focus on The Quiet Council of Krakoa, comprised of the likes of Professor X, Emma Frost, Mister Sinister, Mystique, Colossus, and Storm, just to name a few familiar faces. The series will beg to answer questions concerning Krakoa's governing body and how it will either succeed or fail in upholding its own politics for their newly established mutant nation.

Writer Kieron Gillen expands more on his plans and expectations for Immortal X-Men during an interview with Comic Book Resources. In addition to Gillen's own words, CBR offers preview images for what Immortal X-Men #1 will look like come March 30. These images feature Quiet Council members Mister Sinister, Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler dealing with a new threat, while Mystique and Destiny embrace each other.

Speaking of Destiny and Mystique, their preview images seem set to serve as Immortal X-Men #1's opening scene where Gillen is excited to point out Mystique's costume and hat ensemble, which he predicts will quickly become a fan favorite upon its premiere unveiling. As he tells CBR, "this cast all looks amazing on the page. When they walk in everyone has star power. Lucas has really great designs too. Raven has a hat in the opening scene and I expect her outfit and Irene's in that scene to be cosplayed at some point because it's a hot look! I love it."

In addition to giving his cosplay predictions, Gillen also hinted that certain story elements will be merely teased in the first issue that may not even make sense to readers until issue #8. He also intends to focus on every single member of the Quiet Council in regards to establishing within the first twelve issues what everyone wants and needs. All will start to be revealed and start to make sense once Immortal X-Men first hits the shelves of local comic book shops and in online digital stores starting later this year. Fans can start collecting the series once the first issue premieres on March 30.
