Seminole High School, Florida, news: Students in code red lockdown as cops catch suspect ‘who shot classmate’
A HIGH school student is reportedly on the run after allegedly shooting a classmate as the facility was placed on code red lockdown.
Police rushed to secure Seminole High School in Stanford, Florida, on Wednesday morning after an ‘incident’ was reported.
In a message to parents, school officials confirmed the suspect was in custody after early reports indicated the shooter was on the run.
“One student was injured and a suspect is in custody. This was an isolated incident,” the school said.
According to News6, the injured student was transported to a local hospital in stable condition after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
Sanford police tweeted that the scene was contained and there was no active threat to the school.
It is unclear where the alleged shooting took place.
The school district advised parents not to come to the school as police investigated the incident.
