Jadon Sancho not in Man Utd squad to face Brentford after taking bereavement leave to go to family members funeral
JADON SANCHO has been left out of the Manchester United squad to face Brentford.
Red Devils manager Ralf Rangnick revealed his absence is due to a family bereavement.
The German said: “There was the funeral today, he asked me if he could (not play).
“It would not make sense for him to be part of the squad.”
On Saturday Sancho came on as a substitute against Aston Villa in place of Anthony Elanga, who starts once again on the left flank.
Mason Greenwood also retains his place on the right with Marcus Rashford an option on the bench to replace the pair.
Cristiano Ronaldo starts up-front after missing out at Villa Park through injury.
There is also a return for Anthony Martial after Rangnick claimed he refused to travel for United’s previous match.

The Frenchman denied that claim stating he would never refuse to play for United – and he is back involved with the matchday squad despite rumours linking him with a move abroad.
