RHOC: Why Kelly Dodd Won't Be Given Her Own Show | Screen Rant
Kelly Dodd may no longer be a part of The Real Housewives of Orange County, but she is still trying her best to stay on fans' radars, hinting that she and her husband Rick Leventhal may get their own show. Even though she left the series after RHOC season 15, Kelly is still making certain headlines due to her antics. Now, she and her husband are seemingly working on a TV deal of their own.
After seasons of making rude comments on RHOC, Bravo fans got tired of Kelly and her behavior. Kelly often found herself in hot water, both on and off-screen. Between wearing a "Drunk Wives Matter" hat and claiming that the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic was "God's way of thinning the herd," viewers were happy to see Kelly stripped of her orange. Amid a total reboot, Kelly was let go by Bravo as she had become a liability due to her conservative ways of thinking. Real Housewives viewers could no longer support Kelly, who was coming across as selfish and uneducated.
When it comes to Kelly, "out of sight, out of mind" is just not the case. Not only has Kelly been finding success with her podcast, Rick and Kelly UNMASKED, but she is now also trying to catch the eye of HGTV in hopes of rebooting her TV career. Both Rick and Kelly have just purchased a home worth $715,000 in Palm Springs and hope to get HGTV to film as their remodeling process. Kelly has even taken to Twitter to share her two cents on what's going on. Check out Kelly's post below.
According to Kelly, the new property is a fixer-upper and would be perfect for an HGTV show. The home boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms, along with a beautiful crystal clear pool. The couple also is toying with the idea of putting in a pickleball court. Alas, Bravo viewers don't think that any network is willing to hire Kelly due to her explosive attitude and poor life views. Kelly recently revealed that after wearing a hat and getting fined by Bravo, it wouldn't make sense for another network to risk hiring her.
Since leaving the show, Kelly has been throwing shade at her former co-stars and Andy Cohen. The mother of one claimed that ratings were down and she was missed by fans. Andy made sure to correct Kelly, noting that ratings were at an all-time high. The chances are slim that HGTV or any other network will hire Kelly after she showed out multiple times. In any case, followers will be sure to be kept up with Kelly.
The Real Housewives of Orange County airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
