Watch out, it’s Paws! Meet the huge pets who baffled their owners – from ‘terminator’ pooches to 20st ‘micro-pigs’
LOOK out, it’s Paws!
These pet owners are gonna need a bigger house judging by their enormous animals.
Last week we revealed a fierce-looking moggy is a whisker away from breaking the record for the world’s biggest cat.
Maine Coon Kefir, who weighs a staggering 12.5 kg, regularly gets mistaken for a dog because he’s so huge, according to owner Yulia Minina.
The 22-month-old feline is still growing, and while he has a formidable appearance, is apparently a “very affectionate and modest child”.
He’s not the only massive pet to raise eyebrows. Here we reveal other gigantic furry friends.
Stolen for his size?
Four-foot long pet rabbit Darius won the Guinness World Record for the longest living rabbit in 2010 when he was certified as being 129cm long.
However, last year reports claimed he’d been stolen from his enclosure in Worcestershire – and has been missing ever since, with breeder Annette Edwards fearing a rival rabbit owner was responsible.
His owner previously said she kept Darius in a kennel, rather than a hutch, and treated him more like a dog than a rabbit.

Gentle giant
Wendy the whippet was believed to be the world’s “strongest” pup after being born with a genetic mutation that made her twice the size of her canine companions.
Her condition meant she had a bulging 24-pack and muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger – but the pooch was a gentle giant.
Her owner Ingrid Hansen bought her when she was eight years old and she lived on a farm in Victoria, Canada, until her death in 2017 aged 14.
She had an exciting life, travelling over to the US for TV appearances on programmes like the Today Show.
What a porker!
One owner who thought she’d bought a ‘micro-pig’ ended up with a 20st porker.
Francisco, a Vietnamese potbellied cross, weighs the same as two healthy adults.
After his first owners gave him up, the four-year-old hog found a new home and now sleeps on a futon in a spare bedroom with his owners’ dogs.
Puppy power
Newfoundland-Poodle cross pup Mylo stunned owner Nina Ayling when he hit 7st.
Standing on his back legs he reaches 5ft 3in, and people jokingly call him Chewbacca after the Star Wars character.
Nina said: “We had absolutely no idea that he would get so big. People who have never seen him look absolutely stunned.”
Roll over Beethoven
Despite weighing nearly 12st, and on his hind legs standing at 5ft 9in, Hercules the St Bernard is a lapdog by nature – and won’t let anyone tell him otherwise.
Owner Katie says: “He is a loveable goof and a gentle giant.
“He’s so chilled out when he’s at home and just mooches around and flops down for a sleep.
“He loves snuggles and wants to be cuddled all the time.”
