[Women's Lacrosse] St. Ambrose picked second in KCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll
St. Ambrose tied for second in the KCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Bees secured 85 points as did Missouri Baptist. The reigning regular-season and conference champions, Benedictine, got the top spot in the poll with 99 points and nine first-place votes. Missouri Baptist and Ottawa each received a first-place vote.
The Bees finished second in the KCAC a year ago with an 8-1 conference record. SAU fell to Missouri Baptist in the tournament semifinals to finish the season at 12-2 overall.
St. Ambrose returns a strong attack with Maddie Wiltrout (39 goals), Delaney Austad (32 goals), Mackenzie Zions (24 goals), and Audrey Warner (21 goals) leading the way. The Bees also have two-time second-team all-conference selection Allie Ruggerio returning after a year's absence. Lauren Hoesly, who led the team in assists with 31, also returns. On the defensive front, SAU returns KCAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Maggie Samson, along with leaders Morgan Curzon, Maura Healy, and Alivia Uebersetzig.
St. Ambrose will start their season on March 2nd, hosting the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse at 7 p.m.
