Erdogan: The purchase of Russian C-400 is an internal Turkish matter

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the supply of Russian C-400 air defence systems is an internal matter of Turkey, which does not carry a negative attitude towards NATO

“The deliveries are an internal matter of Turkey. It is our decision. We made this decision, we agreed with Russia. There is no negativity in terms of NATO with this step”, –  Erdogan said at a meeting with Turkish youth in Trabzon.

It is worth noting that Erdogan called the C-400 “an important offensive defense system.”

Summing up, the Turkish leader added, NATO member states “have the right to make their own decisions on the procurement of weapons for the needs of their armed forces.”
