Axed WWE star Nia Jax reveals billionaire boss Vince McMahon’s reaction when she refused to get the Covid vaccine
FORMER WWE star Nia Jax has revealed Vince McMahon’s reaction to her refusing to get the Covid vaccine.
The ex-Raw Women’s Champion was let go in November as part of the company’s ongoing budget cuts.
She insists that her refusal to get the jab was not cited as a reason for her release – but she has recalled a conversation with the billionaire boss where he suggested she gets it.
Appearing on Renee Paquette on The Sessions podcast, Jax said: “I chose not to get the vaccine. It was a personal choice and I remember sitting down with Vince because the entire two years I was there, we were tested every day, I never popped positive or had Covid.
“He said, ‘Well kid, you’re not going to be able to fill some of your contractual duties.’
“I was like, if that’s the case, then that’s the case. It’s a business. I understand you have to run your business.”
Jax also insisted she has no regrets over her decision.
She continued: “Absolutely not. I was asked to be a locker room leader. ‘You have to set an example’.

“I don’t play by the thing, ‘People are going to listen to you and follow suit.’ If they do, that’s on them.”
WWE encourages fans to get vaccination through ads, and a community page, throughout the pandemic.
Regulations have now changed in the USA, but WWE’s travel schedule would mean unvaccinated stars would not be able to travel to some countries.
Jax, real name Lina Fanene, also stated she never wanted to be a locker room ‘stooge’ while discussing the ‘blurred lines’ between herself and her on-screen character.
She added: “I sit back and think, I got caught up in the blurred lines of Nia Jax. It’s Nia Jax 24/7 and s*** gets blurred.
“I can’t sit here and be something they want me to be just to appease them. At the end of the day, am I going to feel good about myself? There are plenty of stooges in the locker room.”
