I may call off our wedding if my partner doesn’t kick his weed habit

DEAR DEIDRE: MY fiancé’s cannabis addiction is making me question our future.

We’re supposed to be getting married next summer, but now I’m wondering if I should call it off.

He lights up in the morning and at night – every time I go out, he rolls a joint

I’m 32 and he’s 29. We’ve been living together for three years.

I absolutely adore him. He’s a great guy – kind, thoughtful, supportive.

But he smokes weed every single day and he doesn’t seem to be able to stop.

I’ve offered to help him quit, and he promises he will, but he never follows through.

He lights up in the morning and at night. Every time I go out, he rolls a joint.

Working from home has made it worse, yet he won’t admit he has a problem.

He says you can’t get addicted to cannabis. I think he’s wrong.

He seems aimless and listless. What should I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: Whether this is an addiction or a habit, it is spoiling your lives.

You need to be cruel to be kind. Tell him how concerned you are and that you’re postponing the wedding until he tackles this problem.

Suggest he contacts talktofrank.com for advice about drug use.

My support pack on Drug Worries will help, too.
