Gogglebox star Jenny Newby uses a mobility scooter in Benidorm as best pal Lee Riley compares her to TV icon
GOGGLEBOX star Jenny Newby is seen driving about in Benidorm on a mobility scooter – after taking a break from the sofa.
The TV star, a fixture on the show alongside friend Lee Riley, was seen seated on the electric vehicle, typically used to help the elderly or disabled get about.
In a caption assumed to have been written by her pal Lee on their shared Instagram page, she was compared to another TV star.
It read: “Jenny does Benidorm the Madge way what happens in Benidorm stays in Benidorm.”
That was a reference to the ITV comedy Benidorm’s character Madge Harvey, the mean-spirited chain smoking gran from the show.
Gogglebox fans loved the snap with one insisting: “We need a documentary on this holiday!!! .”
Another told her: “Love it. You look amazing Jenny. Hope you and Lee are enjoying your holiday. Can’t wait to see you in the new series .”
Referring to Madge’s permanently orange complexion, a third joked: “All she needs now is your tan Lee, and a cigarette hanging out her mouth have a fab holiday.”

Lee and Jenny are most often seen by Channel 4 viewers sat on the sofa at his mobile home in Hull, East Yorkshire.
It feels like the pals have been broadcasting from the caravan since Gogglebox first began.
But the pair, who know each other from the days when she was a landlady and he was a regular at her pub, joined in 2014.
They signed up after she was approached by researchers during a trip to Beverley Racecourse and then – over the course of nearly two hours – talked Lee into joining her.
