RHONJ: Jennifer Aydin Reveals How Daughter Learned About Bill's Affair
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 revealed that Jennifer Aydin’s husband Bill Aydin had an affair a few years ago, and Jennifer has now shared how her daughter, Olivia, learned about this big family secret. Jennifer and Bill were married for almost 20 years and had five kids together: Justin, Gabriella, Jacob, Christian, and Olivia. Jennifer always portrayed a happy marriage while on RHONJ, so fans were shocked to hear rumors of infidelity between the couple.
This past summer, there was talk of RHONJ star Margaret Josephs revealing a big secret about Jennifer while filming. Right before the premiere, Jennifer confirmed that the secret had to do with Bill and was one of the hardest things she's ever had to face. During the RHONJ season 12 premiere, Margaret and Jennifer got into a heated argument at Teresa Giudice’s pool party. Margaret dropped a bombshell that Bill had an affair with his office manager. Jennifer subsequently confirmed it by shouting that it was a pharmaceutical rep.
Jennifer never thought she would have to tell her children about Bill’s affair. Since the secret came out during filming, however, a blogger leaked the story online and somebody made a TikTok about it. Jennifer’s 9-year-old daughter Olivia discovered the video and defended her parents in the comments, but Jennifer had to tell her the truth about her and Bill's relationship. Jennifer told Page Six, “She came to me to show me her comment and said, ‘Look, Mommy, I’m defending you from all these lies.” Knowing the rumors actually happened to be true, Jennifer asked her daughter to take down her comments. After some consideration, Jennifer sat Olivia down and told her that her father did a bad thing but that it didn’t make him a bad person. Jennifer went on to say that she had forgiven Bill and that she was okay.
Jennifer shared that her other children handled the news differently. Her oldest son, Justin, was “irritated” and didn’t want to talk about it again. In fact, he refused to watch RHONJ season 12. Gabriella felt “crushed,” betrayed, and angry, but she got over it. Jennifer said that her younger sons were “neither here nor there.” Bill is embarrassed that the decade-old affair has come to light, but Jennifer stated that he supports her decision to share their story and talk about it.
Margaret has said that she never intended to hurt Bill by revealing the secret, but that she was tired of Jennifer acting like her life was so perfect. Jennifer isn’t sure how Margaret knew about the affair that she had hidden so well. Jennifer claims that she never told anyone about it, including her family members and closest friends. Jennifer called Margaret a “digger” who somehow finds out secrets about people. Despite having to deal with such a painful secret on a TV show, Jennifer and Bill seem to be in a good place. Jennifer stated that the two will watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 together and it will be a form of therapy for the couple.
