90 Day Fiancé: Ximena's Surprise Reaction To Mike's Touching Proposal
Ximena Morales Cuellar shocks 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days viewers with her puzzling reaction to Mike Berk’s romantic proposal. New Yorker Mike met 24-year-old Ximena after staying single for almost 34 years. Despite Mike speaking very little Spanish and Ximena not knowing any English, the couple chatted for a year and made plans to get married. However, during the two weeks Mike spent in Colombia, he found out about Ximena’s scary past and lies she’d told him about having children together. Mike was quick to forgive Ximena after she revealed her tubes were burned. He also promised Ximena’s father Jamir that he won’t turn out to be like Ximena’s past two baby daddies who used her and left the kids without fathers.
While Jamir gave Mike his blessing, Ximena was unsure about accepting Mike’s proposal, which she expected him to surprise her with on his last day in Pereira. Ximena worried about going to live with Mike in America as his “mom” or “employee” after seeing his messy habits, including farting and belching without saying sorry. Ximena's parents tried to convince her that Mike could learn how to get rid of his bad habits and asked her to not be selfish and think about her children who’d have a better education and jobs in the U.S. However, Ximena told the 90 Day Fiancé producers that if Mike did ask for her hand in marriage, she really wouldn’t know what to say.
Ximena was speaking the truth because she burst into tears as soon as Mike carried out his elaborate proposal to her in Spanish, as seen in a preview shared by E! News. With her family, including Ximena’s mother Derly, Jamir, siblings, and sons Juan and Harold seated at the table, Mike addressed Ximena as his “other half.” He added that Ximena completes him and he loves her children as if they were his. “When we are together, I don’t care about anything else but us and the family,” he added. Ximena smiled when Mike told her “you keep me tidy” and hugged him after he uttered his favorite Spanish phrase, “te amo.” She seemed impressed upon seeing the cake with the words “Ximena do you want to marry me?” but couldn't stop herself from bursting into tears, making everyone stare at Ximena with worried faces.
Based on the sneak peek, it seems Ximena might not want to spend the rest of her life with Mike. Additionally, the trailer for 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days showed Mike running after Ximena tells him, “I care for you but I don’t love you.” He was seen uttering “I’m done” and “it’s like a switch changed,” after admitting he's confused because he thought it was “real.” However, it's possible this is a misdirect and Ximena does accept Mike’s proposal. She could be crying only because she’s never received so much love and care from a partner before.
Still, in the remaining episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, something must occur between Mike and Ximena that makes her wonder if she should be with a man who’s so different from everyone she’s dated before. It's worth noting viewers think Mike is not ready for marriage due to his immature behavior in the last few episodes. That being said, there are rumors that Mike and Ximena did get engaged in 2021 after a TikTok on her page showed a photo of him holding a ring. There are also pictures of Ximena trying on wedding dresses. However, viewers remain divided on whether Ximena and Mike are a perfect match.
