Oasis star Liam Gallagher, 49, admits he’s been forced to give up cigarettes and booze in his ‘old age’
GONE are the days of 72-hour benders and ingesting lines of suspicious looking powder before going on stage for Liam Gallagher.
Instead the former Oasis rocker insists he has mellowed as he prepares to celebrate his 50th birthday in September.
Liam said of his cleaner lifestyle while performing: “When I’m singing, there’s no smoking and I don’t drink dairy on the day.
“I just have jasmine tea. It’s good for the throat. When that’s done, then I go back to how I am.
“I know it doesn’t sound very rock ’n’ roll and all that but as you get older . . . I’m nearly 50.
“On my 50th, without a doubt, I’ll be definitely having a do.”
The singer has just returned from Mustique in the Caribbean with fiancée Debbie Gwyther to celebrate her 40th.
Liam, who sang Cigarettes & Alcohol with Oasis, said: “There was seven days out there on a bender and it was like something out of the Nineties. I’m still recovering from that.”

And if you haven’t seen Liam out on his usual jogs around Hampstead Heath in North London recently, he has finally revealed why.
Liam said: “I’m not running any more. I can’t run, my hips are mashed up. I’m just walking, lots of walking.”
I’ll take a Zimmer frame and a packet of herbal tea to the Brit Awards next week, just in case Liam ends up struggling.
The For What It’s Worth singer will take to the stage on Tuesday to perform.
Fans such as myself will be treated to some of his new music, including single Everything’s Electric, which is out now.
But according to Liam, we may be surprised by what he has in store.
Speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X, Liam said: “I’d say 80 per cent of the record’s a bit peculiar, but still good. Twenty per cent of it is kind of classic. I still sound normal and mega and all that.
“But you know, if you’re going to do something a little bit different, do it in these times, because if people don’t dig it, just blame it on Covid. And then we’ll go back to the normal stuff on the next record.”

He added: “I have a really bad radar for people who are flirting or interested in me. Because of the job I do people speak to me because of who I am.
“I’ve had people who I thought were friends but took advantage, as it makes you more vulnerable. It can mean you are second-guessing before a relationship even starts.”

Daisy rocks in socks
DAISY LOWE was oozing specs appeal for a new photoshoot in Los Angeles.
And luckily for her fans – and me – she shared one snap on Instagram after landing back in London.
Posting the shot of herself in a tight Disney T-shirt and knee-high white socks, Daisy said: “Happy to be home but I am definitely missing playing dress-up.”
During the holiday in the States, Daisy celebrated her 33rd birthday with her dad, Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale, and boyfriend Jordan Saul.
She also caught up with former Radio1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, who has spent the past few weeks living it up in the City Of Angels with his boyfriend, dancer Meshach Henry.

THERE are some perks to having Kanye West as your boyfriend, just ask his latest squeeze actress Julia Fox.
The rapper, who now goes by the name of Ye, surprised the American actress and her pals by splashing out more than £200,000 so they could all have matching Birkin bags on her birthday.
Julia revealed the lavish presents on her Instagram account as she celebrated in New York.
The pair were filmed in a very public display of affection at the table too, with Ye later leading the party in singing Happy Birthday to Julia.
The rapper had been trying to keep a low profile when he touched down in the Big Apple and was photographed wearing all black with a balaclava which covered his entire face.

Dua's over the moon with Rocket Man
DUA LIPA reckons her No1 smash Cold Heart with Elton John came about because she was wishing for it so hard.
The Levitating singer said: “It is kind of crazy because I feel like I manifested it.”
The track is a mash-up that includes elements of four Elton classics – Sacrifice, Rocket Man, Kiss the Bride and Where’s The Shoorah?
Dua added: “Rocket Man is my driving song, shower song, my song that I sing along to myself. I love the song.
“When I got asked to sing that part, it was just meant to be.”
I’m pretty sure her incredible vocals had something to do with it, too.
On US TV on Thursday night, Dua also opened up about becoming a podcast host for her new Service95 newsletter.
When asked what she enjoyed the most about the At Your Service pod, Dua said: “I am really enjoying interviewing people. I really love the research element to it.”
