90 Day Fiancé: Why Fans Are Concerned About Ben Rathbun's Left Eye
The new 90 Day Fiancé star Ben Rathbun is worried about his girlfriend Mahogany Roca avoiding him after they dated for three months, but at the same time, fans are concerned about Ben’s left eye. Despite arriving late to 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5, Ben and Mahogany’s storyline has made quite an impact. Whether it's Ben’s religious cult background, his debatable past relationships, or even Mahogany being a possible catfish, fans expect some nail-biting action in the finale. Mahogany keeps insisting she’s real, and Ben keeps getting asked if she is. Unfortunately, people are also asking him, “Are you crazy?”
Mahogany’s doctored photos, which have been shown on 90 Day Fiancé, are the same ones that are plastered across her social media pages. While some fans are wondering if those accounts even belong to her, and speculate that someone else is communicating with TLC viewers via the accounts, older and unfiltered pictures of 90DF star Mahogany from a few years ago do show her looking different. However, it’s not just Mahogany’s photos that are getting attention. Fraser resident Ben was a former pastor until he broke free of his conservative and strict religion. He recently revealed that he works as a Director at the Michigan Lupus Foundation. On 90 Day Fiancé, Ben also recalled that he got into fitness modeling after a co-worker asked if he wanted to make “an easy 400 dollars an hour” just for being an “old dude with abs.”
It was after one of his modeling photos was published in a magazine that 90DF's Ben caught the attention of Mahogany, who is 28 years younger than him. Also noticeable in his photos (and during his 90 Day Fiancé appearances) is Ben’s left eye, which is making fans such as @missjanessence tweet, “Does Ben have a glass eye or am i tripping?” @Jamille_H asked, “Does Ben have a lazy eye?” Fans are baffled about why Ben’s eye always looks like it’s slightly closed. Some have speculated that it could be due to a past injury, a hereditary condition, or perhaps a stroke. A few Forest Whitaker references also keep popping up.
Ben hasn’t replied to any comments asking him about a possible lazy eye on his Instagram, either. However, in a recent post where Ben revealed details of his real job, he did give a shoutout to his much-discussed eye. 90DF's Ben clarified that he does fitness modeling very rarely since he could never make a living with it. He thinks his face is “very asymmetrical,” which he believes is a hindrance in his modeling career. Apart from claiming that his ears are too big, his arms are too long, and his nose is crooked, Ben admitted that he has a “droopy eye.” He says he participated in 90 Day Fiancé to raise awareness about Lupus and his organization.
A condition called ptosis can cause drooping eyes. While it's certainly unconfirmed, the source speculated that Ben could have ptosis in his left eye, which is the condition that Forest Whitaker was born with. A quick scroll through Ben’s older photos reveals that Ben’s eye has always been “slightly closed,” even before 90 Day Fiancé. Regardless, it adds to Ben’s personality and good looks, which are always fetching him thirsty comments. If Mahogany is still together with Ben, she should watch out for the “????????????????” and “????????????????” messages he always gets. Perhaps Ben should give modeling a try again after achieving reality TV fame.
