Joe Millionaire: Jennie Explains Herself After Surprising Elimination
In the latest episode of Joe Millionaire, Jennie Alexandra's time at the manor surprisingly came to an end, and the contestant took to Twitter to explain herself and the situation. For fans of the show, Jennie seemed like the last person bachelors Kurt Sowers, and Steven McBee would send home. Like all reality shows, Joe Millionaire has had its fair share of drama and fights, mainly focused around Kurt's love triangle with contestants Carolyn and Amanda, whom he has strong feelings for. However, when elimination time arrived, the men once again saved Carolyn and Amanda and instead sent home Jennie.
At the start of the season, Jennie seemed to have a strong connection with Steven as the two went on a romantic date to an opera house after Jennie won the challenge for the week. The attorney was open and vulnerable with the bachelor from the start when, on their first date, she shared a personal traumatic experience she had as a victim of sex trafficking. Jennie had received $13 million from the trial, proving to Steven that she was not on the show for the money but to find a genuine relationship. However, at the end of the recent episode, the bachelor felt Jennie had spent too much time informing him about her future relationship plans and not enough time getting to know him, so he sent her packing.
While Jennie seemed devastated to be sent home, she took to Twitter to explain herself after Steven eliminated her. The contestant tweeted at her costar, "Heyyyy @steven_mcbee I never wanted you to make a decision. I love and respect that you're getting to know everyone. But I need a little attention too every now and then to know you're interested." During the episode, Jennie explained to Steven that she was looking for a long-term relationship and was hoping to get married and start a family within the next few years.
While Steven seemingly joined the show to find a long-term relationship, he felt that he was being heavily pressured by Jennie and didn't think the two had the connection they did on their first date. Jennie had acquired a gold coin that allowed her one on one time with the bachelor of her choice, and she chose to use it while Steven was in the middle of connecting with contestant Whitney—seemingly adding to why she was sent home. Jennie expressed her disappointment and sadness upon leaving the house by struggling to talk to producers and choosing to ignore Steven as he tried to apologize to her. The other girls in the house seemed equally surprised by Jennie's elimination.
In every episode, Steven and Kurt express their difficulties with choosing which girls should go home, and though Steven went with his gut, he may have lost out on his perfect match. As the men don't reside in the same mansion as the women do, they don't see the behind-the-scenes conversations that viewers watch. From the looks of it, Jennie was definitely one of the contestants there for the right reasons, while some of the other women are preoccupied with Steven and Kurt's net worths. Luckily, the contestant got her chance to explain herself, and if the truth comes out about some of the other girls in the house, Steven may be kicking himself for eliminating such a genuine contestant before he really got a chance to know her.
Joe Millionaire airs Thursdays at 8 PM on FOX.
