Women rarely coached high-level footy when Michelle Cowan forged her path, but things have changed

With a desire to coach footy, Michelle Cowan sat in a room as the only woman with 86 men to learn the craft. More than a decade on, and thanks in large part to the AFLW’s rise, the coaching fraternity is looking a lot different.
