He is best known for the films The Time of Our Lives, Banksy’s Coming to Dinner, and the TV show Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
Gibson hails from Peru and became a naturalized US citizen.

After a rollercoaster ride of a life, Joan Collins is now content with fifth husband Percy Gibson – 31 years her junior.
“The fact that I was older didn’t matter to us,” she says. “It was giddy, it was fantastic and Percy and I fell madly in love.
“I’ve finally found my true soulmate. And my husband forever.”
Joan Collins, 88, and Gibson married in February of 2002 at Claridge’s Hotel in London.
The couple met in San Francisco two years prior while Collins was starring in a play for a company that Gibson managed.
This was Collins’ fifth marriage and Gibson’s second, as he was previously married to Cynthia Bauer for over a decade.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain in 2020, Collins was asked if she would have met Gibson when she was in her 30’s, to which she replied “He wasn’t born!” referencing the 31-year age difference between the pair.
The star joked: “As you know, [Percy] is somewhat younger than me. At first people would always say, ‘What are you going to do about the age difference?’ I’d say, ‘Well, if he dies he dies!'”
On their 17th wedding anniversary, Collins posted a tribute to her husband on social media to commemorate the day, writing: “Celebrating 17 wonderful fun-filled happy years today! #happyanniversary and #congratulations to my #hubby!.”
The couple does not have any children together, however, Gibson is step-father to Collins’ children, Tara Newley Arkle, Alexander Newley, and Katyana Kass.
They resides in St. Tropez, France in a stunning villa while also splitting time in Los Angeles and England.
