My husband became so sick he was nearly admitted to hospital.
I keep bursting into tears when I think we could have lost him.
I am 34, he is 37 and we have two children, aged eight and four.
When a co-worker started flirting with me, I was flattered. This guy is three years younger than me and really good-looking.
He showed me more interest than my husband had in years.
I had got used to my husband always choosing to play or watch football over spending time with me. We hardly had sex and rarely even spoke.
One evening, during a work night out, my colleague asked: “When are you going to put me out of my misery then? When are we going to have sex?”
I was taken aback but after a few more drinks I whispered: “Let’s make it tonight.”
We snuck off early and went back to his flat. It wasn’t the best sex as we were both very drunk, but I didn’t feel guilty at all.
Especially when I got home and my husband was snoring on the sofa.
My colleague and I carried on sneaking back to his for sex whenever we could.
Then just before Christmas my lover called in sick the day after we had had a session at his flat.
He texted me: “Sorry, I just tested positive for Covid. Terrible headache.” I tested positive three days later but was asymptomatic.
Then four days later, my husband tested positive.

I was worried as he’d only had one vaccination.
He went downhill quickly. He had a terrible headache and repetitive cough, but as the days went on he started to struggle with his breathing.
I was terrified. The doctor was calling us daily to check on him. Luckily, he rallied and was back on his feet in time for New Year.
