RHOM: Alexia Admits to Having ‘Similarities’ With Teresa Giudice
Despite their different franchises, The Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria admits to having 'similarities' with Teresa Giudice. Both OGs on their shows, Alexia and Teresa have bared it all for the enjoyment of viewers. Between Alexia's drama-filled marriages, her at-home dynamic with her sons, and now married for a third time, Alexia's life is a movie. Meanwhile, further up the East coast, Teresa has had one of the rockiest life journeys in Housewives history. Because of their drama-filled lives and possible physical similarities, Alexia admits to having a lot in common with her fellow OG.
After a nearly 10-year hiatus, RHOM is back and better than ever. So much changed in the ladies' lives since season 3 wrapped in 2013. For Alexia, she ended the last season married to her second husband Herman Echevarria. Their marriage ended three years later when Herman passed away in 2016. Season 4 follows Alexia as she works to get answers about Herman's sexuality. Alexia learned that Herman was homosexual after his death. In season 4, Alexia arranged a meeting with Herman's lover and expressed her sadness over her ex-husband not being able to live in his truth. Outside of Herman, Alexia's first husband Pedro Rosello Sr. is currently in prison serving out another drug-related sentence.
All of the drama in Alexia's life has started to make fans compare her to another housewife known for going through some traumatic experiences. Alexia recently opened up about the comparisons she gets to The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice. Alexia said it was her third and current husband Todd Nepola who came across the comparison comments online. Alexia says Todd told her that the fans didn't think she "physically" looked like Tereda, “They mean, like, my character, and all the adversity that we’ve gone through, and that we’re such strong women, and we’re good moms," Alexia told Page Six while admitting, "We have a lot of similarities.”
While Alexia doesn't think she and Teresa "physically look alike," she said, “If we did, that’s fine, too, but [Nepola] didn’t get that.” While some could see physical similarities between Alexia and Teresa, the most thing they have in common are their dramatic lives. Outside of Alexia's past marital woes, she also has two sons with her first husband whom she has raised alone at times in her life. Her eldest son Peter has a temper problem that gets him into trouble. He recently was arrested for allegedly physically assaulting his girlfriend. Alexia's youngest son Frankie survived a severe car accident that left him mentally impaired. The accident and Frankie's state have led to heated debates between Peter and Todd that often put Alexia in the middle.
On what was supposed to be her wedding day last summer, Alexia lost her mother to COVID-19. Alexia and Todd tied the knot in December after postponing the wedding due to the passing of her mom. Alexia holds it down for the men in her life and works to avoid getting into extra drama with the other housewives. With all the real-life drama she goes through, Alexia has no time to fight with her friends. Alexia is definitely deserving of her OG status on The Real Housewives of Miami just like her OG twin in New Jersey.
