BIP: Serena & Joe Share Favorite Romantic Recipes For Valentine’s Day
Bachelor In Paradise fan-favorite couple, Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile, shared their favorite romantic recipes for Valentine's Day date night. Serena and Joe met during Bachelor In Paradise season 7. They had an easy-going and fun relationship that was refreshing because of their open communication and lack of drama. At the end of the season, Joe proposed to Serena, and she said yes. They have spent the last few months together happily engaged. Serena and Joe have said that they are in no rush to walk down the aisle, and are enjoying their time together. They travel back and forth between Joe's hometown of Chicago, Illinois and Serena's home in Toronto Canada, but they have shared that they are considering moving to New York City together in the future.
Joe first stole the hearts of fans when he appeared on Becca Kufrin's season of The Bachelorette in 2018, but he was sent home on night one of the show. However, he made enough of a first impression on Bachelor Nation that he has become one of the most beloved contestants in the history of the franchise. Nicknamed "Grocery Store Joe" because he owned a grocery store in Chicago, Joe loves fresh produce and tasty meals. Joe and Serena are self-described foodies. They share many posts on Instagram that show their excursions to various restaurants. They post reviews and ask fans to decide "who ordered better" based on the photographs of their plates of delicious food. They both have Instagram story collections devoted to food, and they enjoy cooking in addition to eating at restaurants. Joe has even launched his own brand of pasta sauces called Sundays with Joe, with Arrabbiata and Sweet Marinara varieties.
In an interview with Bachelor Nation, Serena and Joe shared their favorite recipes for a romantic Valentine's Day date night. Serena shared that when it comes to romance, it is not so much the food, but the atmosphere and the company that make the night special. She said, "I think the ambience, the significance of the restaurant, and company play the biggest role in if the dining experience is romantic or not." Serena said that she and Joe prefer Italian restaurants for romance, but acknowledged that "for some that could be hot dogs and wings!" Joe revealed that he loves Cacio e Pepe, an Italian dish whose name literally translates to "cheese and pepper," and which consists of black pepper, grated Pecorino Romano cheese, and spaghetti.
Serena and Joe enjoy cooking for each other, and they revealed their favorite meals. Serena shared, "The first meal Joe ever cooked for me was fusilli pasta in homemade tomato sauce. We ate it on his couch with a little red wine. It will always be a standout for me." Joe praised Serena's "delicious" chicken with mushrooms, onions, and potatoes. Serena said that Joe cooks more for her than she does for him, but one of her favorite meals that she made for him was a Greek dinner with chicken breast, roasted potatoes, and a big salad. She admitted that it was "not my best meal of all time, but probably the best one I’ve made for him to date." Joe said that the best thing that he cooks for Serena is "pasta with Sundays with Joe sauce, of course!" Joe shared his recipe for Valentine's Day date night which is penne pasta with olive oil, fresh garlic, Sundays With Joe Sweet Marinara sauce, red chili flakes, and crumbled Italian sausage, topped with parmigiana cheese.
Food is an important part of Bachelor In Paradise stars Serena and Joe's relationship. A romantic dinner is a perfect date for their first Valentine's Day because they are both foodies. If the way to a person's heart is truly through the stomach, then Serena and Joe will have a happy life together, cooking and enjoying life's simple pleasures together.
