My manager swore at me and now I want to get him fired

DEAR DEIDRE: MY manager called me a lazy b*****d because I didn’t record some information in a client’s notes properly.

I am a support worker helping a disabled woman living independently in a flat.

My boss visited the location, as he occasionally does, and all was well until he started looking through her notes.

He got angry and swore at me in front of my client. I do make mistakes but only rarely.

My boss realised his error and apologised then laughed to make it sound like a joke.

Would he be dismissed from his job should I raise a grievance?

Poor behaviour from your manager is a reflection of him, not of you.

He may have difficulty handling stress appropriately but that doesn’t mean that you are incompetent.
