Animal Crossing Cow's Grilling Paradise Becomes Terrifying Murder Cabin
An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has put a creepy spin on a home request from one of their villagers. This build is one of the countless instances of Animal Crossing fans fulfilling NPC requests in unexpected or impressive ways via the game's expansive and expressive personalization options.
Plenty of ink has been spilled about the one-of-a-kind and striking custom creations presented by Animal Crossing players online. In the latest installment of Nintendo's world-famous franchise, players are dropped on a nearly uninhabited island and tasked with turning it into a robust, vibrant, and lively community full of charming anthropomorphic animals. These animal citizens don't seem to be too bashful when it comes to asking the player character for various favors, including home makeovers. Each citizen has their own unique personality, interests, temperament, and tastes that factor into what they want out of their dream home. It's up to the player themselves to decide how these proclivities should be interpreted when it comes to Animal Crossing interior design.
One of the villagers, Patty, is a cow that dreams of a "grilling paradise", and so Reddit user KatieCanDraw decided to realize this dream - though not in the way most might be expecting. While some would probably hear this interest and picture grills, assorted condiments, dinnerware, and other barbecue staples, KatieCanDraw opted to piece together a "murder shed" reminiscent of classic horror films like Saw or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This goal was achieved by implementing splatters of red paint, decorative bones, and a series of naked swinging light bulbs.

These inclusions, coupled with a film-grain filter that has been applied to many of the screenshots, give the custom home a decidedly unsettling ambiance. Props that very well could have been used to accent a more traditional "grilling paradise" - such as cutlery and cutting boards - are used to convey an entirely different message and intention thanks to this new context. KatieCanDraw was kind enough to give Patty a pair of brick ovens to use, although this villager might be inclined to cook up something a bit less humanely farmed due to the influence of this creepy shack.
This creation, while tongue-in-cheek and humorous in nature, still does a great job at conveying just how limitless the possibilities are for gamers willing to make use of Animal Crossing: New Horizons's various customization systems. Indeed, it seems that as long as someone can imagine something, they can create it within the game. With that said, hopefully, another player will be willing to put hominess over horror when it comes to making a cozy space for Patty.
