GTA Online Player Pulls Off Incredible Bridge Stunt By Accident

0

A would-be daredevil has pulled off a spectacular vehicular backflip onto a bridge in Grand Theft Auto Online, completely by accident. Rockstar's successful massively multiplayer open-world sandbox has been an ideal playground for gamers looking to escape reality and perform some incredible death-defying crimes and stunts in GTA Online's huge city of Los Santos. While GTA Online already provides plenty of high-octane missions and side activities for players to take part in, some of the game's more adventurous users have devised their own ways to impress spectators with stunning mid-air jumps and wild escape routes.

Using Grand Theft Auto Online's wide assortment of drivable cars and jetplanes, players have propelled themselves across Los Santos on a speedy Oppressor Mk1 motorbike and broken into the Fort Zancudo airfield with a turbo-cared racecar to steal one of its many aircraft, to name just one impressive in-game feat. Others have drawn inspiration from classic car films like The Fast And The Furious for their virtual stunts, replicating iconic movie moments in GTA to take the lead in a street race and pull off spectacular midair flips that would make Dom Toretto proud. Not all of these gravity-defying displays of virtual daring have occurred on purpose, as some GTA Online gameplay videos show players losing their jetpacks in midair, only to be reunited with them during the long plummet down to Earth.

Reddit user GHOSTVIRUS210 recently posted a brief GTA Online gameplay clip of a wild stunt they recently pulled off, one that apparently happened purely by accident. They start by boosting their Pegassi Toreador through a winding Los Santos street, only to go off-road and ramp off of a nearby cliff. This causes GHOSTVIRUS210 to flip off of the edge and go careening a great distance into the air, slowly flipping and rotating several times before landing perfectly on a bridge a fair bit of distance away. Redditors expressing fondness for GTA's Pegassi Toreador and the stunt itself gave the post a lot of love, with the video receiving over 600 Upvotes at the time of writing.

The unpredictability and creative freedom that Grand Theft Auto Online grants players is one of the many reasons that Rockstar's MMO is so popular, as it has acquired millions of users since it first came online back in 2013. This has been especially bolstered by regular updates and new content, with the recent The Contract update especially proving popular with fans. Not all recent news surrounding GTA Online has been so positive though, as a recent report from US Customs and Border Patrol has claimed that real-life drug cartels have been using GTA Online as a recruitment tool by logging on and chatting with players.

Still, there is plenty of fun to be had in Grand Theft Auto Online, with Rockstar adding in new content every week - including a motorbike seemingly pulled from CD Projekt Red's long-troubled Cyberpunk 2077. It probably won't be long before GTA Online players start using this new bike to pull off some crazy midair stunts, like the one GHOSTVIRUS210 just posted, as staring certain death in the face is par for the course for the citizens of Los Santos - even if the stunts aren't always done intentionally.
