Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Get (& Use) Springy Mushrooms
The Springy Mushroom is a crafting ingredient in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that players will need to complete Request 6, "Mushroom Cake Marketing." This quest becomes available after Trainers have visited the Training Grounds for the first time and battled against Akari and Rei during the main campaign's fifth mission, "Request from Mai." To start "Mushroom Cake Marketing," players must head to a location north of Aspiration Hill in the Obsidian Fieldlands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
An NPC named Morel can be found near the Fieldlands Camp. He will task the player with finding a single Springy Mushroom for a crafting recipe. Once they complete his Request, Morel will reward the player with his Mushroom Cake Recipe. Fortunately, the Springy Mushroom is a prevalent resource found throughout the Obsidian Fieldlands. Trainers will be able to find a few under and near trees at Nature's Pantry and The Heartwood. The mushrooms are rather small and can often be hard to see due to the thick grass clipping through them. Hence, players should be on the lookout for tiny light-brown dots in the grass within forested areas.
Additionally, Springy Mushrooms can occasionally be acquired from drops when catching Paras or Goomy Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Furthermore, Trainers can find Springy Mushrooms within the Coronet Highlands by destroying the Leaf Piles scattered across the wilderness. Finally, the mushrooms can be purchased in Jubilife Village from various merchants such as the Craftworks shop for ₽200. These locations can be an alternative source while collecting the mushrooms for Requests such as "Serving Up Swap Snacks."
Once players procure a Springy Mushroom, they can return to Morel near the Fieldlands Camp to complete Request 6. To craft Morel's Mushroom Cake Recipe, players will need Springy Mushroom ×1 and Cake-Lure Base ×1. Cake-Lure Base is a fundamental ingredient for several recipes in Pokémon Legends: Arceus that can be purchased from the General Store, Base Camp, or Craftworks for ₽100. Mushroom Cakes effectively attract Dragon Pokémon and more monstrous Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Springy Mushrooms are also used in the Swap Snack Recipe, acquired by completing the previously mentioned "Serving Up Swap Snacks" Request. Trainers can craft a Swap Snack with Candy Truffle ×1, Sootfoot Root ×1, Springy Mushroom ×1, and Hopo Berry ×1. When fed to a Pokémon, the Swap Snack will temporarily swap the Pokémon's offensive stats with its defensive stats. Such an effect could be helpful in tanking a hit when fighting a challenging opponent.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is available on Nintendo Switch.
