Still some size along the open stretches

0

Hello Friends,

Swell energy is winding down, but there were still a few head high wave faces among the more common waist high offerings at Dee Why. The point looks to be missing out most of the time, but the numbers up the beach tell the story. Wind was out of the NW-W before 0700 but the Bureau says it’ll move around to the NE by this afternoon. At the same time, the swell’s expected to continue to fade. The showery weather will be back with us this evening and tomorrow. Swell at sea was 1.4 metres at 10 seconds from 150° as of 0730.

As always, I’m keen to see what the Goat thinks about the coming week’s prospects, particularly with TC Dovi featuring in this morning’s coastal waters forecast (see below pics).

Keep that N95 with you so you’re prepared for indoor spaces. The new variant of Omicron is blowing up in Europe and will be with us soon I reckon. Stay safe and go well!

Weather Situation

A weak ridge extends along the New South Wales coast, while a trough of low pressure lies over the eastern Tasman Sea. The ridge will weaken weaken further today, before strengthening again on Friday and into the weekend, as a new high moves east across the southeast of the country, bringing fresh south to southeasterly winds. Tropical Cyclone Dovi is expected to track south through the eastern Tasman Sea on Friday and Saturday generating large swells.
