Emmerdale couple Matthew Wolfenden and Charley Webb look VERY different in anniversary throwback
EMMERDALE star Matthew Wolfenden shocked fans as he shared a throwback of himself and Charley Webb to mark their anniversary.
The shot – taken 15 years ago – shows the couple looking almost unrecognisable when they first “got together” after meeting on the ITV soap.
Matthew, who plays David Metcalfe on the show, says that he knew at that moment that she was “his soulmate”.
In the snap, Charley has completely different hair, which is dark brown and with a fringe, while Matthew looks like a member of a 90s boyband.
He captioned the picture: “This photo was taken 15 years ago. We had just ‘got together’… now we’ve been married 4 years and have 3 amazing, beautiful (always annoying) boys running around the house and driving us mad!
“I knew as we had this photo taken that we’d be together forever. I’d found my soulmate. Love you pal. @miss_charleywebb . Happy anniversary. X ”

Charley also marked their anniversary as she revealed the reality of being together so long.
She wrote: “Happy 4 years married. This is what our anniversary looks like. 15 years together, 3 children later.
“I’m in my pyjamas ready to read my book in bed and @matthewwolfenden55 is watching a cooking programme. Happy Anniversary pal, you wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The couple tied the knot in February 2018 in a surprise wedding – their friends and family thought it was a birthday party.
They are parents to Buster, 11, Bowie, six, and Ace, two.
It was recently revealed that Charley had quit her role as Debbie Dingle on Emmerdale after 19 years.
The decision came after Matthew became embroiled in a row following a complaint that an inappropriate comment was made to a mixed-race female cast member.
He and co-star Isabel Hodgins — Victoria Sugden in the soap — were also facing claims that the actress’s accent was mimicked.
Matthew and Isabel, 28, both denied the allegations. It was later claimed that Matthew also had a row with Aaron Anthony, who plays Ellis Chapman.
