They’ll Keep Improving And Offer A Lot – Frank Lampard Backs Everton Pair

Lampard gave minutes to both Everton’s deadline day signings in their 3-1 defeat against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Alli was brought on as an early substitute in the 25th minute following an injury to Demarai Gray, while Van de Beek came on in the second half.

Both new signings were unable to help Everton avoid defeat though and they remain bang in trouble in the Premier League.

The Chelsea legend though feels that both players showed elements of what they can bring to the team and are going to improve with time.

“It was good for them to get minutes”, Lampard told EvertonTV.

“I thought they both showed elements of their game that are going to benefit us.

“Longer term, they will get better – they will settle in with the club and new team-mates.

“It was a difficult game for them, but they’ll keep improving for us.

“They will both offer a lot.”

Next up for Everton is a crunch clash against Leeds United and all eyes will be on whether Lampard chooses to start either Alli or Van de Beek in the Premier League meeting with the Whites.
