BARCELONA star Riqui Puig has been brought face to face with his near-namesake… with a fan asking him to autograph his pet PIG.
The Catalan giants are enduring a swinishly bad season by their own standards, lying 15 points behind leaders and arch-rivals Real Madrid in LaLiga.
Puig looked somewhat confused when an actual pig was thrust in front of him[/caption] The Barcelona man didn’t mind signing the live animal though, which was complete in a Barcelona kit[/caption]But midfielder Puig at least brought home the bacon for one devoted fan, who confronted him as he drove away from Barca’s training ground on Thursday.
The supporter passed his pet porker through the window of the 22-year-old’s car.
The animal had been dressed in a Barcelona shirt, and Puig obligingly signed the replica kit before driving off – no doubt leaving the windows open.
Local-born academy product Puig has made over 50 senior appearances for the Nou Camp side.
He has recently attracted interest from Wolves and Leeds United.
Puig played small parts in Barca’s LaLiga triumph of 2019, and the Copa del Rey success last year.
