Love Is Blind: Trisha's Claim To Instagram Fame Doesn't Make Any Sense
Warning! SPOILERS ahead for Love Is Blind season 2 episode 1 below!
Trisha Frame told several men on Love Is Blind season 2 that she's incredibly popular and has a lot of followers on social media, but her statements don't really check out. Netflix officially kicked off its reality TV catalog in 2020 and turned a lot of the Love Is Blind season 1 cast members into very famous individuals on social media. Since then, Netflix has had several other successful reality shows such as The Circle, Selling Sunset, Too Hot To Handle, and Bling Empire, to name a few.
Not only was Love Is Blind season 1 a big success with the public, but it also outdid many long-running dating shows in terms of actually forming successful couples that could outlive their time on TV. For one, Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton became the poster couple for the hit Netflix series. In addition, Love Is Blind got Amber Pike and Matthew Barnett to tie the knot and kickstarted a years-long relationship between Damian Powers and Giannina Gibelli.
Unfortunately, viewers - and her potential suitors alike - didn't have the best time getting to know 30-year-old broker Trisha Frame on Love Is Blind. In the pods, Trisha's statements seemed to put off several men as she often claimed to have a "huge Instagram following." As seen in the screenshot below, however, Trisha had about 8,600 followers on Instagram in the days prior to the Love Is Blind season 2 premiere, which doesn't exactly qualify as the "huge following" she described. Trisha's other statements in the pods included her claim that she has a lot of friends and is used to having "five to 20 people in my car at a time." The edit featured men like Joey Miller, Julius Cacho, and Kyle Abrams looking absolutely puzzled by what Trisha was saying to them. And if Trisha's claim to Instagram fame wasn't already enough, she had a few other cringeworthy moments that were highlighted on the show.
Later in the premiere episode, Trisha tried figuring out why someone like her doesn't have a boyfriend. She remarked, "Scale of one to 10, I'm a catch." Trisha then talked about liking Nick Thompson but feeling like there was another girl that liked him too, someone that Trisha thought was called Holly or Molly. After being informed that the girl's name was Danielle, Trisha insisted that no, the girl's name was Holly. When speaking about Danielle - but still referring to her as Holly - Trisha said that she wasn't too worried because she didn't think Danielle was "that much of a competition compared to me." Plot twist: Nick proposed to Danielle in the first episode.
In her final conversation with Nick, Trisha brought up wanting to find someone who could work out with her. She added, "I have a lot of Instagram followers that see how hard I hit the gym. I think, sometimes, girls get a little intimidated by how much I work out... that they might not be able to keep up." Alas, Trisha's claim to social media fame once again came off as questionable when considering what her actual Instagram profile shows.
Love Is Blind season 2 airs Fridays at 3 a.m. ET / 12 a.m. PT on Netflix.
