I’m a tanning expert and the ‘claw’ technique is the key to getting bronzed hands with NO streaks
WHEN it comes to self-tanning, getting your hands streak-free and perfectly bronzed can prove quite difficult.
Amber, the owner of Bronze Cactus Sunless, shared a video showing the simple ‘claw’ technique she uses to easily tan her knuckles and fingers.
A tanning expert shared how to flawlessly tan your hands[/caption] She first recommended applying lotion to your hands to help absorb the tan[/caption]She first suggested applying lotion to your hands to keep your skin hydrated.
Though Amber said you shouldn’t lotion your whole body before tanning, there are certain areas that need it to help the color from getting too blotchy.
“You only put it on hands, elbows, ankles, and feet since color sucks up to those areas,” she said.
Applying the mousse to her tanning mitt, she began spreading the product on her arms and when she got to her hand, she formed it into the shape of a claw.
Using the mitt, she made sure to apply the product to the insides of her fingers and knuckles.
The claw technique forces your fingers to bend forward, exposing the skin in between your knuckle creases, and helping them catch the tan.

Blending in the color, she used a brush to spread the product around her hands.
She then brushed from her hands down to her wrists to avoid any harsh streaks or color gaps.
To make the tan look as natural as possible, she used a body wipe to remove any excess product from the inside of her palms.
Beauty lovers praised her for sharing this technique, saying: “This is so helpful!” and “I NEEDED this video.”
To scrub off blotchy patches of tan, twin sisters shared a hack using salt and shampoo to easily remove any stains, claiming it’s the “best hack we’ve ever tried.”
